Diva and VII Challenges, Combined!

It has been a long week. Let's just say I'm really glad to have zentangle to keep myself on an even keel.

This week's Diva Challenge is a UMT, Fassitt by Lynn Mead. Haven't played with it too much, but boy did I have fun with it this time!

I decided to do a classic sampler style piece, with lots of tangles, and had SO much fun.

I had a lot of fun doing this. The patterns are, from the left:

Fronds, andante, ribbons, bead line, embellishments, niuroda, prestwud across the top, fassitt, flux, and some little fassitt motifs. Beadlines down at the bottom spilling out, and a few black perls amongst the flux leaves. Along the top of the niuroda is a line of hamail going along the curve rather than in a circle. I think it looks cool.

There are a couple of pieces I've done this past week or so, not attached to any challenge, just relaxing and fun to do.

I JUST LOVE andante, there on the left.
Just a spiral with tropicana elements
 Flux and ribbons and bubbles

Now, on to Joey's challenge for the week. We're up to VII for our string, with instructions to use zailz, queen's crown, nippa, and gotcha. With a bonus for using all four.

Well, I couldn't pull that off, but I did manage to something:

Oh...just realized, I never did any shading on this one was fun doing the auras all shiny, and the perfs are good that way too.

  1. Your sampler piece is lovely and the andante in it looks really well. I need more practice with andante but like you I think it is a good new tangle. The flux ribbon and bubbles is fantastic, I can feel it moving as the water washes through it. Great Vll, clever use of Sailz to outline the numeral and unusual design of Nipa which looks fantastic. The one black pearl between the two l l looks like an eye peeking out lol. I like it unshaded actually.

  2. Wow! Fantastic work...every single one! I have to say my favorite one is the spiral. The petal shapes are so elegant and I love the highlighted ribbon effect. I'm currently working on a 5"x 8" ZIA for my nephew's birthday gift and have two large spiral shapes that I was pondering how to fill. I am so stealing that;-) Thanks for sharing your lovely work and the inspiration.

  3. I love the open focus centre of the UMT for Diva 262. And all the other pieces are stunning as well.

  4. Beautiful! Glad to see my Andante on your tile!

  5. Like your sampler tile with Fassett as the star. I have not done one of those for a while. Yours flows very nicely.

  6. Lovely art!!! I especially love the one with Flux and the Bubbels.

  7. Beautiful work, especially your entry for the Diva challenge!

  8. Some super work here, HeidiSue. Love that simple spiral band on the left using inspiration from Tropicana. It really appeals to me. Axxx
